I was caught off guard this morning as I drove into the athletic events parking lot with my son at Morley Stanwood High School, where I expected to see vast emptiness. Instead there were way too many cars clogging up the spaces, and both the JV and Varsity football teams getting after it on the practice field. My immediate question to myself was "Am I off by a day; am I wrong? Is today not Saturday after all?" I've gotten to a place in my life where my mind doesn't always work to the best of its ability. Fortunately for my mental well being, it turned out that it was indeed Saturday. Our football teams were just working overtime to prepare for the upcoming season. I appreciate their dedication and hard work, and I look forward to cheering for them a lot this season! I am also relieved to know that I have not fallen completely of my rocker.
