Today we began our 1st learning target: "I can convert powers to standard form." This means we can give a simplified numeric answer for a number raised to an exponent. We reviewed exponents and explored patterns. Then, we discovered what a number to the zero power is always equal to. Lastly, we looked at how parentheses affect the answers to powers with negative bases. The notes for this learning target are here: Learning Target #1.
