9/17/14 and 9/18/14
Yesterday we worked Big 10 Challenge problems #3 & 4 and today we did #5 & 6 of round 2. We will have our 2nd Big 10 Quiz on Monday.
Yesterday we took our first assessment on our first learning target converting fractions, decimals, and percents. Afterward, we worked on our study of irrational and rational numbers.
Unfortunately, as a whole, the class did not do well. Therefore, I have decided to try again using a different approach. Today we really reviewed changing percents to fractions and then took a 4 problem quiz over that single skill. You will be getting the results of that mini-quiz tomorrow. We have put our 2nd learning target on hold for the time being (rational & irrational numbers). Expect to have quizzes every day over each individual skill involved in converting fractions, decimals, and percents. There will be 6 of these mini-quizzes. Hopefully, we will show better growth by doing so. We can do this!
